I saw this in the Xpress newspaper today and I could not resist sharing it.

Tomorrow, at Global Village in Dubai, an attempt will be made to break a world record for feeding the most people from the world’s biggest bowl of biryani. The bowl will contain 2.5 tonnes of chicken biryani and will be enough for around 300,000 people. The bowl itself is made from pure stainless steel (5mm thick) and weighs more than 700kg.
The following will be going into the monster meal:
* 1.2 kg of bay leaves
* 1 kg of saffron
* 25 kg of mint leaves
* 1/2 kg of mace
* 25 kg of coriander leaves
* 2 kg of brown and green cardamom
* 1.2 kg of cloves
* 6 kg cumin
* 48 kg of masala
* 12 kg each of garlic and ginger paste
* 240 bags of rice
* 4,450 onions
* 845 fresh tomatoes
* 8 kg of fresh chillies
* 900 chickens (boneless)
* 12 bottles of milk
* 240 lemons
* 800 glasses of yoghurt
* 125 sticks of butter
* 30 cans of ghee
* 180 bottles of oil
The cooking will be done by 50 chefs whilst the serving will be done by 120 people!
All I know is that I am glad I don’t have to wash up afterwards!
