iphone 1 blackberry 0?

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority have handed iPhone users a reason to feel smug – Blackberry services (messenger, email and web browsing) will be suspended in the UAE from the 11th October, according to today’s sad news.

Essentially this is because traffic and more specifically I would imagine ,content, cannot be monitored on the Blackberry network as it’s encrypted to the device. Another probable, although unstated reason, is that Blackberry Messenger (BBM) allows you to send messages to other BB users without extra charge.

I am a very happy Blackberry owner, and have found it indispensable now that I am not 100% desk-bound. As a business tool for answering and sending emails it is invaluable, and I love BBM.

This is not good news. I am hoping there will be some clarifications on this, but I am not holding my breath on this one.
