  • lying cheat (rant)

Previously I told you about a mobile car battery dude that comes to you and replaces your battery on-site.

I had the misfortune to have both cars die on me late last year (heat and sand and batteries not a good combination I guess) and he replaced them both. The one in my Suzuki has a 1 year warranty (haha) and the one in the Pajero only had 6 months.

Being the loving wife I am I took Stu’s car to work today so that I could fill the tank for him before he needs it tomorrow (he has been away on business) and lo and behold it died (again) on me.

So I called said battery guy, who arrived an hour later and replaced the battery (for a Saudi made one this time) and then coolly demanded 570 dirhams.

  • Dubai food week

Ok, no, it’s not really food week, but it has felt that way just lately. I had started January with big plans of doing a detox, and going off the booze for a month, but that has all fizzled away like snow in the desert, in July. What with friends visiting, and the pending, and much anticipated, third instalment of the Dubai Ladies Wine Club Come Wine and Dine with Me it has seemed a little bit pointless really to start anything in earnest.

So, instead, I have some lovely pics of food to torment you with (*evil laugh*).

  • Eid milaad sa’eed Burj Khalifa*

The world’s tallest tower opened a year ago today. Still an impressive site no matter how often I look at it.

  • Happy New Year!

I have spent 30 minutes (at least) googling new year wishes and quotes and trying to find something to put here to wish you a good year. I found a few I liked a lot, and some that said a bit of what I wanted to convey, but somehow they all looked a little cheesy and overdone when I pasted them here to share with you. So in the end I’m going to keep it simple and just say..

Happy New Year! May 2011 be all you wish it to be and more.
